About The Program

The Center for Defense and Homeland Security (CDHS) at Fayetteville State University is proud to offer the Federal Agency Internship Program. This program is consists of major opportunities with the federal government in both summer and the academic year. Students of all backgrounds are welcome to apply, especially those with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) majors.

Federal student internship opportunities include applications to the following core agencies and their extended offices or sub-agencies:

Program Manager

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of an internship program, overseeing and coordinating the program once it’s up and running, assigning interns to various departments, and managing site supervisors. This individual also acts as the liaison between the company and the educational institution (the student’s faculty sponsor, the school’s career center director, and/or career counselors).
